It’s great when couples have a location in mind for photos as it usually means the place has some special significance to them. Joseph & Amy asked us to meet them for their Dale Abbey Engagement session on a Sunday afternoon and led us into the woods (dun dun dunnnn). We were headed to a tree – not just any tree, but the kind that’s big, tall and old. The kind that’s been carved into over the years with people’s initials, declarations of love and the occasional crude word. It’s also the tree under which Joseph proposed to Amy and there were remnants of the setup – a balloon skin emblazoned with the partial phrase “you are love” (Was it originally loveable/lovely/loved?) and string hanging from branches still tied to the knotted end of popped balloons. These guys returned to the place where their story as soon-to-be husband and wife began. We love it when we get to hear how ordinary places have become special and timeless. Looking forward to spending more time with these guys when they get married next April!
