Gael and Adam had their Shottle Hall Wedding Photography during June in Derbyshire. Their ceremony was held at St. Peter’s Church Littleover with the reception at Shottle Hall. The space around the marquee at Shottle was perfect for guests on a summer’s day. Drinks and lawn games outside and plenty of space for kids to run around – plus a BOUNCY CASTLE! Amazing.
Gael had styled the wedding beautifully. The subtle tones of the flowers and the bridesmaids dresses. And we absolutely loved the dress and veil – both suited her so well. The classic modern look was where it was at. That lace detail on the bottom of the veil… so so good! Gael was a stunner. But let’s not forget the groom! Adam looked great too and we applaud him for thinking beyond the standard grey/black and tails. Love a good slim suit.
These two were so easy to photograph because we knew they trusted us and used the time to connect and enjoy each other’s company, away from everything else. It made our job so much easier. We love capturing something real between people, and these two had that in spades.
We can tell if we’ve done our job well at the end of the night – even before looking at the photos – by what the bride & groom and guests say to us. Before we left Gael said “You were the glue that held today together”. Jaw. On. Floor. Thankfully the photos turned out well too and Gael has since written us “These little drops of art are going to be hung over every inch of our house if I have my way, and they’ll be passed down to grandchildren and treasured in worn out albums.” Our hearts are singing.
We love weddings for the mix of capturing moments and beautiful creative portraiture, and this wedding let us do both so easily. Thanks Gael and Adam!
