For Christmas we didn’t buy Chantelle’s cousin Anita anything. Rough. But before you start thinking we’re a couple of cheapskates, we’d like to show you what we did get her. Yeah, the title of the blog post might have given it away, it was a photo shoot. With us. OK, maybe you’re still thinking we’re cheapskates – but the photos turned our great, and Anita likes them too.
Anita’s family live in Camborne, a hilltop suburb near Wellington that overlooks both the open sea and peaceful Pautahanui Inlet. We met Anita there one sunny & windy summer evening, faced with our first decision: photos by the sea or the inlet?
Heading round to nearby Hongoeka Bay, with its broad sweep of rugged coastline, we knew we had chosen well. The sun was just beginning to go down behind Mana Island, bathing everything in beautiful golden & red light. The tide was coming to wash the scarred rocks, while the wind playfully added movement to everything. Perfect. AND Anita was a total champion! Looking forward to the next shoot when we find ourselves in New Zealand again.
