During our whirlwind trip back to New Zealand in March, we comboed up a hang out with my (Chantelle) sister Acacia and her man, Joe, with a tour and photos of them in their new home. Their house reminds us a bit of our old home in New Zealand, 1950’s stucco, wooden windows, floors and door frames, complete with the original carpet in their room. Sublime.
These guys are super comfortable in their own skin and with each other, and were willing to let us try A N Y thang! Practice for us, photos for them. Win. Plus, Finley was super happy playing in a puddle and befriending a neighbourhood cat while all this was going on. (Don’t worry, when we do couple shoots with you, we won’t bring Finley the distraction machine along. Promise).
ALSO, my parents were in the process of moving their house, and so Acacia was proudly displaying the photo collage of us kids that mum must have put together circa 1999. Apparently people don’t want to see that cheesy ish when looking to buy a new home.
And, mega newsflash, Acacia and Joe recently got ENGAGED! WHOOP! So these double as their Wellington Engagement Photos. We’ll be heading back to NZ in March 2016 for their big day. Can’t wait. Want us to shoot your wedding while we’re out there? Yeah? We’d love to hear from you.
You can see the day Joe gave Acacia her Instax/Polaroid camera, which she is the absolute queen of using. Instax Queen. Here.
These last three photos just scream New Zealand ‘burbs! And I love them. Dumpy nappy and all.
